During another demonic disturbance, Black Cat discovered Mary Jane’s secret Slot Device superpowers. Six months after Peter alienated his connections for Norman’s help to save Mary Jane, Mary Jane resumed her life “married” to Paul with the kids, and avoiding Peter well enough to lie to Felicia about seeing him. When Peter confronted Paul, who revealed he was Rabin’s son from the dead Earth, Mary Jane revealed she knew during her time with him and there were similarities with guilt and pain between Paul and Peter. Mary Jane survived with Paul and they adopted orphans Owen and “Romy” Stephanie, living a mostly peaceful life while developing her Power Slots device. While Peter returned to Earth, Mary Jane was trapped with Paul on the other Earth for four years due to an unknown time differential. Mysterio left her with Kindred, who revealed themselves as Sarah Stacy, who elaborated that she and her brother were experiments in Harry’s posthumous plan to torture Peter and Norman.

As the random powers it gave her harmed her body, Mary Jane was guided by the symbiote piece to the Venom symbiote’s location. In the wake of the Venom War, Mary Jane’s Jackpot Device began malfunctioning due to a piece of the symbiote messing with the mechanism.
The pair tired to set up Mary Jane with May’s nephew, Peter Parker, numerous times, but he constantly either found a way out or found himself too busy with Spider-Man responsibilities. In “Together”, the web shooter on Mary Jane’s gun is replaced with a sonic device to weaken the symbiotes. In Marvels’s Spider-Man pin up online casino and “The Heist” from The City That Never Sleeps DLC, she gains access to spider lures for “Uninvited” and a stun gun in “Step Into My Parlor…”. In these endeavors, she has employed Peter’s spider lures and a handy stun gun.

In the epilogue to “One More Day”, she attends a “coming home” party held by ex-Harry Osborn during one such visit, with Peter catching a small glimpse of her before she left, after ignoring her. Mephisto accepts these terms, and in the revised timeline, which begins at the end of The Amazing Spider-Man #545, and is further explained in the following issues, MJ and Peter were never married but instead “dated seriously for years”. MJ, despite loving Peter, accepts Mephisto’s offer, but only with the caveat that Mephisto promises to restore Spider-Man’s secret identity. The real Peter Parker, trapped in his rival’s dying body, breaks out of prison and attempts to switch back, only for his body to eventually give out on him before he can complete the procedure. Shortly after, Carlie Cooper breaks up with Peter, having deduced his secret identity. Saved by the intervening Future Foundation, MJ later locates Peter and Carlie, the latter having also been granted spider-powers.
After Peter’s company went belly up during the “Secret Empire” storyline and he got a new career as the Daily Bugle’s science editor, Mary Jane started being more supportive of Peter getting his life back on track. In the Amazing Spider-Man series, it is revealed that she has eventually accepted Tony’s employment offer when she and Tony attend a Parker Industry event, making Peter very uncomfortable. Having ended her relationship with Ollie, Mary Jane had opened this nightclub after MJ’s got destroyed during a superhero battle.
Following the attack, Peter informs MJ that Harry’s treatment (in reality, a symbiote) is similar to an exoskeleton-like suit and helped him rescue civilians trapped on a roller coaster. MJ left New York for Symkaria, bringing Peter along as her photographer for a working vacation. Although she initially intended to expose them in a Daily Bugle piece, she learned about Yuriko’s family feud with the Maggia on the way and how it had led her to stop following protocol, realizing it was a more compelling story. However, they reconciled after acknowledging their dating histories and the fact that they were not together at the time. Over dinner, telling Peter the news, she offered him a temporary home with her and the two rekindled their relationship with a passionate kiss.
Wanting to save their friend and stop the symbiote, MJ works with the Spider-Men by retrieving the meteorite while Peter distracts Venom at Midtown High. MJ continues to help the Spider-Men in learning of Venom’s intentions, discovering that the symbiote wants to terraform Earth by using the meteorite it came from. The following day, MJ, unaware of Harry’s turn, is confronted by him, now calling himself Venom, at May’s home, resulting in her being possessed by a symbiote named Scream. However, things go awry when Harry obtains the symbiote and kills Kraven in Times Square during a bloody battle that followed after rampaging across Oscorp.
